At RISE Culinary Institute, we believe food is more than just nourishment, it’s a bridge to belonging, confidence, and a brighter future. Through our free, hands-on culinary training, we empower refugee and immigrant women from low-income families to gain vital kitchen and life skills that lead to employment and independence.
We start by meeting people where they are. Our recruitment efforts focus on reaching refugee and immigrant women from underserved communities, those who may have never stepped into a commercial kitchen but have a world of tradition and culture to share.
Our hands-on training is free and practical. Over twelve weeks, trainees learn core culinary techniques, food safety, kitchen etiquette, menu planning, and nutrition education, all taught in a supportive, inclusive environment.
We don’t stop at graduation. We help participants secure internships, connect with local employers, and gain the confidence to pursue a long-term career or launch their own venture.
We support the whole person. In addition to technical training, we provide mentorship, soft-skills development, and a community of support to ensure lasting success.
RISE is not just a culinary institute, it’s a launchpad for new beginnings.
At RISE, we go beyond culinary training. We recruit women from underserved refugee and immigrant communities, train them with hands-on culinary and nutrition education, connect them to real job opportunities, and support them with mentorship and community. It’s a holistic journey that empowers women to rise with confidence and purpose.
